To receive data, activate the infrared port by accessing this menu. If data
transfer is not started within two minutes, the connection is cancelled and has
to be started again.
To send data from your phone, select the function from which you want to
send data over the infrared connection.
Checking the status of the infrared connection
When is shown continuously, the infrared connection is active and your
phone is ready to send or receive data via its infrared port.
When blinks, your phone is trying to connect to the other device or the
connection has been lost.
GPRS
In this menu you can define when the phone connects to the (E)GPRS network
(network service). For general information about the (E)GPRS service, see page 15.
To access this menu: Press Menu in standby mode, and select Settings,
Connectivity and GPRS.
Select GPRS connection and Always online or When needed.
If you select Always online, the phone automatically registers to a (E)GPRS
network when you switch the phone on, if the (E)GPRS network is available in
your location.
If you select When needed, the phone registers and connects to the (E)GPRS
network only if you use a function that needs the (E)GPRS service. In this case,
establishing the connection may take longer than when Always online is
selected.
