Receive a TTY call

Make sure the TTY and phone are connected.

When the phone vibrates (if vibrate is on), press
to answer the
call, and then type your response on the TTY.

To hang up, press on the phone.

The HDC-9P and HDE-1 headsets can be purchased separately as accessories.
Connect the headset

Plug the headset jack into the accessory
connection on the bottom end of your phone.

Place the round headset ear plug in your ear.
With the headset connected, you can make,
answer, and end calls as usual.
• Use the keypad to enter numbers
• Press to place a call
• Press to end a call
When in use, the headset microphone hangs at
the side of your head. Although it may seem far
from your mouth, you can speak at normal volume.
VOICE DIAL A NUMBER WITH THE HDC-9P HEADSET
Once you’ve voice tagged entries in your Phone book, you can make a call
with the HDC-9P headset by simply pressing and holding the remote button
on the microphone. See “Assign a voice tag” on page 51 for information
on setting up voice tags if you haven’t already.

At the Start screen, press and hold the remote button on the headset.
Your phone beeps and
Please speak now
appears in the display.

Within 3 seconds, pronounce the voice tag into the microphone.
Once the voice tag is recognized, the tagged entry appears in the
display, replays through the earpiece, and the number is dialed.
