5 Text entry
You can use two methods for entering text and numbers.
•The
standard mode
is the only way to enter names into such things
as the phone book, and renaming caller groups
•
Predictive text input
is a quick and easy method for writing messages
• STANDARD MODE
Text (Abc)
• Press a key once to insert the first letter on the key, twice for the
second letter, and so on. If you pause briefly, the last letter in the
display is accepted and your phone awaits the next entry.
• Press the 0 key to enter a space thereby accepting a completed word.
• Press the 1 key to enter a period (.).
• Press the star key to display special characters. See more about
special characters on the following pages.
Numbers (123)
To switch to
123
mode from
Abc
mode, press and hold the pound key at
any message entry screen until the icon in the upper left corner of the
display switches from
Abc
to
123
(or vice versa).
CLEAR THE SCREEN
•Press
Clear
to backspace the cursor and delete a character.
•Press and hold
Clear
to backspace continuously and delete.
