Activating Your Phone’s IR Capability
Before using the IR capability of your phone, it must be activated.
Activation is temporary, lasting only a few minutes. The icon
blinks in the upper left corner of the display when the IR capability
is activated. Be sure this icon is displayed before attempting to send
or receive data using IR.
To activate IR using the phone menus:
1. From the standby mode, press Menu, scroll to Settings, and
press Select.
2. Scroll to Infrared and press Select.
You can also create a voice command to activate your phone’s IR
capability. For more information on using voice tags, see "Using
Voice-Activated Dialing" on page 100.
To create a voice command to activate IR:
1. From the standby mode, press Menu, scroll to Settings, and
press Select.
2. Scroll to Voice commands, press Select, scroll to Infrared, and
press Select.
3. Press Options, scroll to Add command, and press Select.
4. Press Start and speak your voice command.
5. Press Options, scroll to Playback or Change, and follow the
prompts until you are satisfied with the command.
To activate IR using your voice command:
1. From the standby mode, press and hold until you hear and
see the “Speak now” prompt.
2. Speak your voice command as you originally spoke it. (When
your phone recognizes the command, it replays it and
“Found.
Activate infrared” displays.)
Note:
IR capability automatically deactivates after two minutes.
