12. System
System contains the following applications: Security, User data, Memory,
Infrared activation, Digital camera connectivity, Remote synchronisation, Fax
modem, Data removal, Install/Remove software, Backup/Restore, Memory
card tool, and About this product.
To start a System application
1 Press the System application button.
2 Scroll to the application and press Select.
3 If a System application is active, you must close it by pressing Close in the
main view of the application before you can start another.
System settings
To change the System settings
1 Press Settings in the System main view.
2 Select the setting you want to change.
3 Press Change.
The System settings include all system-related permanent settings:
System sounds Covers all the sounds in the communicator. The available
settings are:
Default ringing tone The default ringing tone is the normal ringing tone
of your phone. The default ringing tone will sound every time you get a
phone call from someone who does not have a personal ringing tone set in
the contact card. You can select one of the tones in the pop-up box or
compose a special ringing tone for your telephone with the Composer
application. See Composer on page 127. You can also use the sounds you
have recorded with the Digital voice recorder as ringing tones. See Voice
recorder on page 131. If a tone or sound is erased, the default ringing tone
Nokia tune will replace it.
Note: When one of the PC connectivity applications
or the fax modem is in use, the communicator
consumes more power than normally. To extend the
battery operation time, these applications should be
closed when they are not used.
