To lock the communicator manually
1 Press Lock system in the main view of the Security application.
2 If the Autolock period is in use, the device will lock immediately. If the Autolock
period is off, you must enter your lock code before the device is locked.
After the communicator has been locked, it cannot be used until the correct
lock code is given. However, incoming voice calls can be answered via the
phone, and faxes and short messages are received normally.
To unlock the communicator
1 Enter your lock code in the input field.
2 Press OK.
To change the security settings
1 Press Settings in the Security main view.
2 Select the setting and press Change.
3 When you are prompted for a code, enter it and press OK.
Choose a new value.
The codes are shown as asterisks. If you are changing a code, you will be
prompted for the current code and then the new code twice. The code cannot
be changed if the corresponding security feature is not in use. For example, if
the PIN code request is set to Off, the PIN code cannot be changed.
Pressing Close will close the security settings and return to the Security main
view.
Note: When the communicator is locked, it may
be possible to make a call via the phone to the
emergency number programmed into your phone,
e.g. 112 or other official emergency number.
Tip: Most of the security features
can also be changed in the Security
options menu of the phone. See
”Settings (Menu 4)” on page 145.
