Entering Text
Selecting a Character Input Mode
Your phone provides convenient ways to enter words, letters,
punctuation, and numbers whenever you are prompted to enter text
(for example, when adding a Contacts entry or when sending email
messages).
To change the character input mode:
1. When you display a screen where you can enter text, press
Mode(right softkey).
2. Select a character input mode:

Add Word to store words that you use frequently (see page
24).

Preset Messagesto enter preset messages.
Ⅲ
Recent Messagesto enter messages you have used recently.

Signature to enter your signature (see page 35).
Ⅲ
T9 Wordto enter characters using predictive T9 Text Input.
Ⅲ
Alphabetto enter characters by tapping the keypad.
Ⅲ
SYMBOL to enter symbols.

NUMBER to enter numbers.

PRESET SUFFIXto enter a preset suffix.

SMILEYS to enter smile icons.

Emoticons to enter

Erase All to erase all text (if applicable).

Paste to paste copied or cut text (if applicable).

Select Text to select stored text for copying or cutting.
Tip: Preset Messages, Recent Messages, Signature, and Emoticonsare available
when composing text messages.
Preset Messages, Recent Messages, and Signature
are available when composing picture messages. Signatureis available only when
a signature has previously been created.
Tip:When entering text, press the (shift) key to change letter capitalisation
(Abc> ABC> abc).
Note:Up to three of the most recently used input modes are displayed from the top
of the input mode list when
Mode(right softkey) is pressed during text entry. To turn
off this feature, select > Settings >Others >Text Entry >Recent Access >Off.
