Locking and Unlocking
When you lock a message, it cannot be deleted until
you unlock it.
Highlight or view a message and press / >
Lock Message or Unlock Message.
Calling a Number in a Message
If any field in a message contains a phone number,
Direct Connect number, or Talkgroup ID, you can call
or send a Call Alert to that number.
To make a call to a number in a message:
1. View the message.
2. Highlight a number and press ` to make a
phone call or press the DC button to make a Direct
Connect call.
To send a Call Alert to a Direct Connect number in a
message:
1. View the message.
2. Highlight a Direct Connect number and then press
press /
> Alert.
3. Press the DC button.
To make a Talkgroup call to a Talkgroup ID in a message:
1. View the message.
2. Highlight a Talkgroup ID and then press / >
Talkgroup.
3. Press the DC button.
Storing Message Information to Contacts
If a message you receive contains a phone number,
Direct Connect number, Talkgroup ID, or an email
address in any of the fields, you can store this
information to Contacts.
1. View the message.
2. Highlight a number or email address and then
press /
> Save Number or Save Email.
3. Select [New Contact] to store the number in a new
entry, or select an entry to store the information to
an existing entry.
4. With the Contacts type field highlighted, scroll left
or right to display a Contacts type for the number
or email address.
5. Press Save (left softkey).
