HEAD RESISTOR
Note • Depending on the printer model you have, this menu item may not be available.
For printers wit h model numbers 10500-2XXX-XXXX and 10500-3XXX-XXXX, the
head resistor value is set automatically.
Setting the Head Resistor Value: This value has been preset at the factory to match
the resistance value of the printhead. It does not need to be changed unless the
printhead is replaced.
Caution • T his p arameter should be change d only by a qualifie d service technician .
1. Before replacing the printhead, look for the label that shows the resistance value
(ohm value) of the new printhead and note it for the setting (Figure 33).

2. From the front panel, access the HEAD RESISTOR parameter.
3. Press the (–) key to move to the nex t digit position ; press the (+ ) key to increase the
value of the digit.
Caution • Do not set the value higher than that shown on the printhead. Settin g a
higher value may damage the printhead.
Initial Value: Factory-set to match the printhead shipped with your printer.
Default Value: 0500
Range: 0500 to 1175

They should be changed only by a qualified service technician. Refer to the
maintenance manual for more information on these parameters.
