17 The Answering
Machine
Your phone includes a telephone
answering machine that records
unanswered calls when it is on. Once
switched on, your answering machine is
ready to be used. By default, your
answering machine is set to Answer and
Record mode. You can also access the
answering machine remotely.
The LED message counter on the base
will show the number of the messages
when the answering machine is on.
You can use the answering machine menu
on the handset to change the settings of
the answering machine.
17.1 Turning on the answering
machine
You can turn on the answering machine
either through the base or the handset.
Through the handset,

answering machine during standby.
Note
Once switched on, your answering
machine will answer incoming calls after a
certain number of rings depending on the
ring delay setting. See “Setting the ring
delay” on page 57.

machine
You can turn off the answering machine
either through the base or the handset.
