8.4 SIP settings
SIP is a VoIP signaling protocol and is used for setting up communications
sessions such as conferencing, telephony, and instant messaging on the
Internet.
Press Menu, and select WLAN and SIP Settings.
To make the phone ready for VoIP call, you will need the following information
from your service provider for your broadband device:
Username User name used in the
name field of the SIP
URI for the IP phone
and for registering the
phone at the registrar.
max. 30 characters,
numeric or alphabetic
Password Password used to
register the IP phone
with the SIP proxy.
Passwords are
encrypted and display
as asterisks when
entering.
max. 12 characters,
numeric or alphabetic
Auth. name Depends on specific
service
implementation.
Domain name The corresponding
SIP domain name.
e.g. sip.Pirelli.com
Local port The port number of the
local SIP server
Default: 5060
Proxy server IP address of the SIP
proxy server. Up to 64
alphanumeric
characters.
e.g. sip.Pirelli.com
Proxy port SIP proxy server’s port
number.
Default: 5060
