standard.Useofanunqualifiedbatteryorchargermaypresentariskoffire,explosion,leakage,

4. Donotshortcircuitabatteryorallowmetallicconductiveobjectstocontactbatteryterminals.
5. Replacethebatteryonlywithanotherbatterythathasbeenqualifiedwiththesystemperthis
standard,IEEE-Std-1725.
6. Promptlydisposeofusedbatteriesinaccordancewithlocalregulations.
7. Batteryusagebychildrenshouldbesupervised.
8. Avoiddroppingthephoneorbattery.Ifthephoneorbatteryisdropped,especiallyonahard
surface,andtheusersuspectsdamage,takeittoaservicecenterforinspection.
9. Improperbatteryusemayresultinafire,explosionorotherhazard.
10. ThephoneshallonlybeconnectedtoCTIAcertifiedadaptersandproductsthatbeartheUSB-IF
logoorhavecompletedtheUSB-IFcomplianceprogram.
BatteryReplacement
Whenthetalkandstandbytimesarenoticeablyshorterthannormal,replacethebatterywithan
originalSonimbattery.Ifareplacementbatteryisbeingusedforthefirsttimeorifthebatteryhasnot
beenusedforaprolongedperiod,itmaybenecessarytoconnectthechargerandthendisconnect
andreconnectittobeginchargingthebattery.

AvoidShortCircuit
Donotshort-circuitthebattery.Anaccidentalshort-circuitcanoccurwhenametallicobjectsuchas
acoin,clip,orpencausesdirectconnectionofthepositive(+)andnegative(-)terminalsofthe
battery.(Theselooklikemetalstripsonthebattery.)Thismighthappen,forexample,whenyou
carryasparebatteryinyourpocketorpurse.Ashort-circuitattheterminalsmaydamagethebattery
ortheconnectingobject.
AvoidHighTemperatures
Ifyouleavethebatteryinhotorcoldplaces,suchasinaclosedcarinsummerorwinterconditions,it
willreducethecapacityandlifetimeofthebattery.Forbestresults,trytokeepthebatterybetween-
20°Cand+55°C(-4°Fand131°F).Adevicewithahotorcoldbatterymaynotworktemporarily,
evenwhenthebatteryisfullycharged.Batteryperformanceisparticularlylimitedintemperatures
wellbelowfreezing.
