Voice Recognition
Nuance voice recognition software is an advanced speech recognition program that can be used to activate a wide
variety of functions on your phone. Nuance software automatically voice activates up to 2,000 contacts for voice
dialing and searching. No pre-recording or training is required. Speak a contact name to dial, and use your voice to
look up contacts, launch applications and navigate phone menus.
1. In Idle mode, press
Menu
and select Applications Voice recognition.
2. After the voice prompt “Say a Command”, speak a command. A list of available commands is provided below.

Say a Command Options
•
Call <Name or #>
:
dials the spoken number or the number associated with the spoken name in your contact list. If multiple
numbers exist (i.e., home, work, cell phone), say the name and the number type.

Send Text <Name or #>
:
displays the Create message screen.
•
Lookup <Name>
:
locates and displays contact information stored in the Contacts list.
•
Go to <App>
:
opens the phone application (Web, Calendar, Ringtones, Tasks, Contacts, Voice mail, Games). Application must
be activated.

Check <Item>
:
Reports various phone status readings (Status, Messages, Missed Calls, Time, Signal Strength, Network,
Battery, My Phone Number).
While the Say a command screen displays you have two options:

Tutorial
: provides examples of how to use the voice commands.
•
Settings
: lists the settings and information for voice command software:
•
Confirmation:
Sets whether the system asks for confirmation of what is said (Automatic, Always Confirm, Never Confirm).
•
Adaptation:
Trains the software to respond to your voice.
•
Audio Modes:
Sets the level of audio guidance to Prompt Mode (audio and screen prompt), Readout Mode (audio and
screen prompt, audio help), Expert Mode (screen prompt and beep only).

Speakerphone
: Automatic (uses phone setting), Always On, Always Off.
•
About:
Displays the software version.
If the phone does not recognize a command, it issues the voice prompt “Sorry, Command not recognized. Try Again?”
