Stand-by display
From the stand-by display:
See page 37 to set the time and
date.
Holding your phone
Making a call
The phone can make and receive
calls only when it is switched on,
unlocked (see page15), has a valid
SIM card inserted and has GSM net-
work service coverage. If the phone
cannot find a valid network the dis-
play remains blank.
replace the battery, the
phone prompts you for the
date and time.
If you insert the SIM card
incorrectly, the error message
Check SIM! appears. Remove
the cover and battery and
make sure the SIM is inserted
with the gold contacts facing
down.
If the mobile is locked, Code:
appears.
Enter the 4digit phonelock
code and press OK . The
default is 4zeros, e.g. 0000.
If your SIM is PIN protected,
Enter PIN: appears.
Enter the PIN code and press
OK . An animated screen
icon appears, then the stand-
by display.

the hands free mode, put the phone to your ear.

number using the numeric keys
( - ). You can enter a maxi-
mum of 46 digits. Correct any
mistakes by pressing Clear .
