Verify Dial-Up Networking
The following steps describe how to verify if dial-up networking is installed on your computer.
1. From your desktop, double-click the My Computer icon to open the My Computer window.
2. Double-click the Dial-Up Networking icon to open the Dial-Up Networking window.
3. Double-click the Make New Connection icon. The Make New Connection window should appear, indicating that dial-
up networking is installed.
4. Click Cancel to close the Make New Connection window.
Verify TCP/IP Protocol Installation
The following steps describe how to verify if TCP/IP Protocol and Dial-up Adapter are installed on your computer.
1. From your desktop, double-click the My Computer icon to open the My Computer window.
2. Double-click the Control Panel icon to open the Control Panel window.
3. Double-click the Network icon to open the Network window.
4. Scroll down the list to find TCP/IP Dial-Up Adapter.
5. If you see TCP/IP à Dial-Up Adapter in the list, click OK; you have TCP/IP installed and can proceed with
installation.
6. If you do not see TCP/IPà Dial-Up Adapter in the list, you will need to add the TCP/IP protocol. Click Add and
