Terminology
EIA: Electronics Industry Association
DTE: Data Terminal Equipment
DCE: Data Communications Equipment.
Note: The interface is specified by EIA/TIA 574. The term RS-232 refers to
the older 25-pin specification. RS-232 is used in this manual because of the
common use of the term for serial interfaces.
