Automatic updates of time and date do not change the
time set for alarm settings or calendar memos.
Phone
To customize the settings of your phone use the following
steps:
■ In Idle mode, press Menu ➔ Settings ➔ Phone.
The following options are available. Use the Navigation
keys to scroll to and set options.
Language
The Language option allows you to select the Screen Text
language and the Input Language.

Screen Text
: The Screen Text option allows you to select the phone
text. Choices are: Automatic (
according to the language of the
SIM card)
, English, or Français (French).
•
Input Language
: Sets the language used when entering text into
the phone. Choices are: English, or Français (French).
Shortcuts
The Shortcuts option allows you to change the applications
assigned to your Navigation keys.
1. Press a Navigation key and press or press
Options ➔
Change
2. Select a new application to assign to the Navigation key.
3. Press
Save
or to assign the new application.
Own Number
The My Number option displays the number assigned to the
SIM card in your phone.
Security
The Security feature enables you to restrict the use of your
phone by the others and to restrict the types of calls. Various
codes and passwords are used to protect the features of your
phone.
The following options are available.
Lock Phone
The Lock Phone feature helps to protect your phone against
unauthorized use. When the Lock Phone feature is enabled,
the phone is locked and you must enter the 4- to 8-digit phone
password each time the phone is powered on.
Note:
You will be prompted to create a password the first time
this feature is enabled.
