To avoid accidental key presses, you can enable the KeyGuard
feature. However, you’ll still be able to receive incoming calls
and messages. This feature also prevents needless battery usage
because the phone does not respond to any key presses and
turns off the backlight.

If you have an incoming call, open the flip to answer it.
When you are done with the call, close the flip and
KeyGuard is automatically turned on.
KeyGuard works only when the flip is closed. To enhance
usability, Keyguard is automatically turned off when you
open the flip and automatically turned back on when you
close the flip.
If your battery is getting very low and you have Keyguard
turned on, you may see a message “low battery cannot
disable keyguard”. To make the message go away, open and
close the flip. If the message persists, then you better go
ahead and charge your battery.
If you have Keyguard turned on, then the word “Keyguard”
displays, however occasionally a message may be written
over this (for example a “Missed Call” will cause this to
happen). This is normal, and within a few seconds
“Keyguard” will reappear on the display.
