Chapter 3. Dial functions
3.1 Making a GSM phone call
There are several ways to make a GSM call:
Click the Dial icon at the bottom of the touch screen and enter the phone number you are
trying to reach. Press Call to initiate the call.
To redial last call placed, click the Dial icon and immediately select Call to place the call.
Select the number from one of the Call Logs.
Select the number from the Contact list.
From a message reading window, select Return call of the drop down menu.
Note: When dialing out or receiving a call, the phone will search the names in the Contact list and
will only make a comparison based on the last 11 digits of the number.
Note: When dialing through the Dial panel, press the drop down menu to select “Save number” to
save it to the Contact list.
3.1.1 Dialing an international call
To dial internationally, “+” must be entered in the Dial window by either pressing and holding the “0”
key or selecting “Insert +” from the drop down menu. Don’t forget to enter applicable country code,
city code and the complete phone number.
3.1.2 Dialing extension numbers or voice mailbox
To dial a number that has an extension, first dial the main telephone number, then select “Insert P
(for Pause) from the drop down menu or press and hold down the #” key until “P” is displayed in
the dial window. Lastly enter the extension number. The phone will dial the main phone number and
the extension phone number for you automatically.
Voice mailbox is a network service. Contact your service provider for details on voice mailbox
services. Click the Message icon at the bottom of the touch screen, select the last item – Voice
mailbox button and Call. Alternatively, you can press and hold down “1” key on the dial pad to
engage the voice message function.
