Voice Recognition
• Special Characters: “&” is pronounced as “And”. “%” is pronounced as
“Percent”. “@” is pronounced as “At”.
• Other Characters: Characters other than alphabets, digits, and the three Special
Characters are ignored.
The following are examples of how some name entries are recognized:
The following are some useful hints:
• Acronyms such as “MTV” are pronounced as expected by spelling out the
characters (“Em Tee Vee”).
Note: There is no need for pauses between the characters. Just say “MTV” normally.
• All CAPS words that are pronounceable as English words (such as “PAL” or
“COMCAST” above) are treated as Acronyms and will only be recognized with their
acronym pronunciation (e.g., “Pea Ay El”).
Note: If “COMCAST” appears in the contact list as an acronym with all CAPS, saying “comcast” may result
in incorrect recognition. A suggestion would be to type “Comcast” in your contact list.
