Location Settings
Yourphone is equipped with a Location feature foruse in
connection with location-based services.
The Location feature allows the network to detect your
position. Turning Location off will hide yourlocation from
everyone except 911.
1. Press > Settings > More... > Location.
(The Location disclaimerwill be displayed.)
2. Read the disclaimerand press OK (left softkey).
3. Select On orOff.
When the Location feature is on, yourphone’s standby
screen will display the icon. When Location is turned
off, the icon will be displayed.
Messaging Settings
Staying connected to yourfriends and family has never
been easier. With yourphone’s advanced messaging
capabilities, you can send and receive many different
kinds of text messages without placing a voice call.
Messaging settings make text messaging even faster
and easierby letting you decide how you would like to
be notified of new messages, create a signature with
each sent message, and create yourown preset
messages.
Setting Message Notification
When you receive a message, yourphone notifies you
by displaying an icon on yourdisplay screen. You can
also choose to be notified with a message notification on
yourdisplay screen.
1. Press > Settings > Messaging > Notification.
2. Select Msgs and Icon orIcon Only.
Tip
Toaccess the Messaging settings menu, you can
also press
Menu > Messaging > Settings.
Note
Turning Location on will allow the network to detect
your position using GPS technology, making some
Sprint applications and services easier to use.
Turning Location off will disable the GPS location
function forall purposes except 911, but will not
hide yourgeneral location based on the cell site
serving your call. No application orservice may use
your location without yourrequest orpermission.
GPS-enhanced 911 is not available in all areas.
