• Mailbox name—Key in the name that you want to use for the mailbox.
• E-mail address—Key in your e-mail address.
• My name—Key in your name or nickname.
• Outgoing (SMTP) server—Key in the e-mail server address.
• Incoming server type—Select either POP3 or IMAP4, depending on the type of e-mail system that you are using. If both
types are supported, select IMAP4. Changing the server type also changes the incoming port number.
If you select POP3, the options Incoming (POP3) server, POP3 user name, and POP3 password are shown. If you select
IMAP4, the options Incoming (IMAP4) server, IMAP4 user name, and IMAP4 password are shown. Key in the e-mail server
address for incoming e-mail, then key in the user name and password to access the mailbox. If you have not defined an
SMTP user name orSMTP password, the e-mail server uses the POP3/IMAP4 user name and password instead.
In Other settings, select:
• Include signature—You can define a signature that is automatically added to the end of your e-mail when you write a
message.
• Use SMTP authorisation—If your e-mail service provider requires authentication for sending e-mail messages, select
Yes. In this case, you must also define your SMTP user name and SMTP password.
• SMTP user name—Key in the user name which you obtained from your e-mail service provider for outgoing mail.
• SMTP password—Key in the password that you want to use for outgoing mail.
• Outgoing (SMTP) port —Key in the number of the e-mail server port for outgoing e-mail. The most common default
value is 25.
If you selected POP3 in Incoming server type, the following options are shown:
• Incoming (POP3) port— Key in the port number that you obtained from your e-mail service provider.
• Reply-to address—Key in the e-mail address to which you want replies to be sent.
• Secure login—Select Secure login on if your connection requires an encrypted login, otherwise select Secure login off.
For more information, contact your service provider. Using encrypted login enables increased security for user names
and passwords. It does not increase the security of the connection itself.
• Retrieve e-mails—Key in the maximum number of messages that you want to retrieve at a time.
• SMTP connection settings—Define the connection settings required for outgoing messages.
• POP3 connection settings—Define the connection settings for incoming messages. Contact your e-mail service provider
for the settings.
If you selected IMAP4 in Incoming server type, the following options are shown:
• Incoming (IMAP4) port—Key in the port number that you have obtained from your e-mail service provider.
• Reply-to address—Key in the e-mail address to which you want the replies to be sent.
• Retrieve e-mails—Key in the number of messages that you want to retrieve at a time.
• Retrieval method—Select Latest if you want to retrieve all newly received messages, or select Latest unread if you
want to retrieve only messages that you have not read.
• SMTP connection settings—Define the connection settings required for outgoing messages.
• IMAP4 connection settings—Define the connection settings required for incoming messages.

Service commands
You can send service commands, also known as USSD commands, to your service provider for activating network services.
1. Press Menu, and select Service commands.
2. Key in and send the service request.
