17. PC connectivity
You can connect the phone with an infrared (IR) or data cable connection to a compatible PC and use the phone as a modem
to send and receive e-mail, and access the Internet when your phone is connected to a compatible PC. You can use your
phone with a variety of PC connectivity and data communications applications. With PC Suite, you can, for example,
synchronize contacts, calendar, and to-do notes between your phone and a compatible PC.

PC Suite
PC Suite contains the following applications:
Nokia Application Installer to install Java applications from a compatible PC to the phone, or remove them from the phone.
Nokia Content Copier to back up and restore personal data between the phone and a compatible PC. Nokia Content Copier
also supports content transfer between multiple phones.
Nokia Image Converter to make images in supported formats usable for multimedia messages and wallpaper, to create
portrait photos for contacts, and to transfer the images to your phone.
Nokia Modem Options for HSCSD and GPRS connection settings.
Nokia Multimedia Player to play your multimedia messages and audio, image, and video files. You can also create play lists
of your multimedia files.
Nokia PC Sync to synchronize contacts, calendar, notes, and to-do notes between your phone and a compatible PC.
Nokia Phone Browser to view the contents of the Gallery folder and Contacts of your phone on a compatible PC. You can
browse contacts, images and audio files, and video clips, and also modify files in the phone memory and transfer files
between the phone and the PC.
Nokia Phone Editor to send text messages and edit the contacts in your phone.
Nokia Sound Converter to convert polyphonic ringing tones in supported formats to be compatible with your phone and
to transfer them to your phone.
EGPRS, GPRS, HSCSD, and CSD
With your phone you can use the EGPRS (enhanced GPRS), GPRS (general packet radio service), HSCSD (high speed circuit
switched data) and CSD (circuit-switched data, GSM data) data services.
To check availability and to subscribe to data services, contact your network operator or service provider.
Note that the use of HSCSD services consumes battery power faster than normal voice or data calls. You may need to connect
the phone to a charger for the duration of data transfer.
Using data communication applications
For information on using a data communication application, refer to the documentation provided with it.
Note that making or answering phone calls during a computer connection is not recommended as it might disrupt the
operation.
