Chapter 6 Getting Connected
You can set up connections to the Internet and corporate network at work to do such activities as
browse the Internet or intranet, send and receive emails and instant messages, and synchronise
information using ActiveSync.
With an active connection, you can browse the web, download e-mails, chat using MSN Messenger,
or synchronise wirelessly with the server. Check with your Internet Service Provider to see if a
connectionhasalreadybeensetupforyou,andifover-the-aircongurationissupported.
6-1 Connecting to the Internet
On the Home screen, press Start > Settings > Connections to open the Connections screen.
Connections settings allow you to set up Dial-up, Virtual Private Network (VPN), Bluetooth, Proxy,
and General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) connections, so you can connect to the Internet or your
corporate network.

Every network connection is different. You should gather all of the relevant information or network
settings you need before starting this process.
1. On the Home screen, press Start > More > Settings > Connections > Dial-up.
2. Press Menu > Add.
3. Enter the appropriate information.
