168 Managing Mail
Setting HotSync Options
1. Tap the Applications Launcher icon .
2. Tap Mail.
3. Tap the Menu Launcher icon .
4. Select “Options” and tap “HotSync Options”.
5. From the drop down menu, tap either “Local HotSync” or
“Remote HotSync”.
6. Choose the filtering option to apply during the
synchronization. The available choices are:
ᮣ All - Downloads all messages in your computer’s Inbox,
regardless of size or number. It then sends all messages in
your phone Outbox to your desktop computer.
ᮣ Send Only - Send only the messages in your phone
Outbox to your desktop computer. The messages are then
sent via the desktop e-mail application to the intended
recipients.
ᮣ Filter - Downloads all messages in the computer’s inbox
based on a criteria. Messages are sent to the desktop using
another specified criteria. Filters are used to limit the
amount of junk mail received.
ᮣ Unread -Download only the unread messages from the
desktop computer. All messages in your phone Outbox are
sent to the desktop computer.
7. Choose from the following options:
ᮣ If you selected All, Send Only, or Unread, tap “OK” to exit.
ᮣ If you selected Filter, continue to "Working with Filters" on
page 169.
