Performing Your First HotSync Operation
An initial setup is required on both the desktop computer and
your phone to synchronize the data for the first time. Once the
information is entered, and your phone is recognized, the
information is not required again. The first connection must
be completed using a direct connection with a cradle, not a
modem.
Perform a HotSync the First Time
1. Connect your phone cradle to the desktop computer and
plug in the power cord.
2. Launch the Palm Desktop application on the desktop
computer. For information on installing the Palm
Desktop application, see "Installing the Palm Desktop
Software" on page 15.
3. Click on the HotSync icon located in the Windows
task bar to open the HotSync Manager.
4. Click “Local” from the HotSync Managers menu.
5. Turn on your phone, and slide it into the cradle. A click is
heard and the charging light turns on when properly
inserted.
