4.8 Windows Update
Link to Microsoft’s Web site and update Windows Mobile® on your phone
with the latest security patches or fixes.
To set up Windows Update
The first time you run Windows Update, you need to set up how you want
Windows Update to check for patches on the Microsoft Web site.
1. Select Start > Settings > More >
Windows Update
.
2. On the Update Setup screen, select
Next
.
3. Select how you want to check for
updates, Manual
or Automatic, then
select Next
.
Note If you select Automatic, choose whether
or not to use your data plan to check for
updates.
4. Select Finish.
To change Windows Update options
1. Select Start > Settings > More >
Windows Update
.
2. Select Menu and choose the option you
want to change.
• Choose Connections to change how
the device connects to the Internet
when checking for updates.
• Choose Change Schedule to
change how Windows Update
checks for patches on the Microsoft
Web site.
Tip You can check for updates whenever you want by selecting Check Now on
the Windows Update screen.
