176 Using Other Applications
To make a call or launch a program using Speed Dial
If you have assigned a speed dial key to a contact or a program in Speed Dial, do
the following to dial the contact’s number or open the associated program:
Press and hold the assigned key, if it is a single-digit speed dial number.
To dial a two-digit speed dial number, press the first number key first, and
then press and hold the second number key.
To delete a speed dial entry
On the Home screen, select Start > Applications > Speed Dial.
Select the desired entry and select Menu > Delete.
11.4 Voice Command
Voice Command lets you call your contacts, open applications, play back music,
and get calendar information just by using your voice. Voice Command only
responds to a set of predefined commands. You cannot create your custom
commands in Voice Command.
Pressing and holding the SHORTCUT KEY ( ) activates Voice Command. When
Voice Command is activated, the icon will appear at the upper-right corner of the
screen.
To call a contact
1. Hold the phone a few inches away from your mouth.
2. Press and hold the SHORTCUT KEY to activate Voice Command.
3. In a clear voice, say “Call [Contact Name].”
4. Voice Command will conrm with you the contact you want to call. After the
Voice Command conrmation, say “Yes” or “Correct.”
Note If Voice Command is wrong about the contact to call, say "No" or "Incorrect" to
try again.
5. The phone calls the contact.
