3.2 Basic Operations in the Standard Counter
3.2.1 Turning ON/OFF the power
• Main power switch on the rear panel
The switch on the rear panel is
the main power switch. It turns
ON/OFF of the main power to
the counter.
• Display ON/OFF switch on the front panel
This is the switch to ON/OFF
the counter display. The display
will be on/off every time the
switch is pressed. If the main
power switch is on and this
switch is off, only the display
will be off, although the power
is supplied to the counting
circuits and the Linear Scales.
NOTE
For normal operation after the power has been turned on the main power switch on the
rear panel should be left on, and the counter should be turned ON/OFF using the
display ON/OFF switch on the front panel.
If the display is blinking after the power is turned on using the display ON/OFF switch,
this indicates that the displayed value is of no use. If this happens, cancel the value
using the Cancel key, then reset the machining datum point.
Always operate the keys only with fingers. If a key is pressed with a sharp tip such as a
screwdriver, it may be damaged.
