5.1.3 Wrong key operation
Event Treatment
The buzzer sounds twice.
(Warning for invalid operation.)
Perform the operation again correctly.
Error when entering data with the ten-key. Cancel the operation using the Cancel key,
and enter the data again.
5.1.4 Troubleshooting
Phenomenon Probable cause Inspection and treatment
The power does
not go on.
• Poor power outlet connection.
• The power cord is broken.
• Use a circuit tester to test the
power cord for conductivity.
If it is faulty, replace it.
The counter does
not count.
• The counter is not in a
condition to count.
• The signal input connector of
the scale unit is not connected
properly.
• Make sure the counter is in a
condition to count. If the
counter cannot count because
of the settings, press the
Cancel key to cancel operation.
• Make sure the signal input
connector of the scale unit is
connected properly.
There was a
miscount.
• The signal input connector of
the scale unit is not connected
properly.
• The counter is not properly
grounded.
• The power supply voltage is
inadequate.
• There is noise.
• Make sure the signal input
connector of the scale unit is
connected properly.
• Make sure the unit is grounded
properly.
• Check the power supply
voltage.
• Make sure there is no cause for
noise.
Rated accuracy is
not obtained.
• The scale unit is not installed in
the machine properly.
• The workpiece is not set up
properly.
• The machine, the linear scale
or the workpiece is affected by
heat and there is expansion or
flexure.
• Make sure the scale unit is
installed in the machine
properly.
• Make sure the workpiece is set
up properly.
• Make sure there are no local
affects due to heat.
If the counter still fails to operate properly after performing the above inspection and
treatment, contact the dealer or the nearest Mitutoyo sales office.
