Using the Main Menu
The Main Menu provides access to various waypoint, system, navigation and interface management,
and setup menus. The Main Menu is available from any page in the system by pressing the MENU key.
To access and use Main Menu:
1. Press MENU twice. The Main Menu is divided into categories by function, such as GPS and Route.
2. Move the
ARROW KEYPAD UP or DOWN to highlight the tab you want to view. The information for
the highlighted tab automatically appears. Press to the RIGHT on the ARROW KEYPAD, then move
UP or DOWN to select individual items on that page.
3. Press
MENU for additional menu options or ENTER to make changes to the highlighted item. Press
LEFT on the ARROW KEYPAD to get back to the menu tab list. Press QUIT to exit the Main Menu.
The Main Menu pages, listed below, are discussed in-depth in the following pages.
GPS – shows satellite status, accuracy, DOP, and differential information.
Route – allows you to create, edit, activate, or delete routes.
Points – allows you to create, edit, or delete waypoints and proximity points.
Track – allows you to save the active track, edit saved tracks, and navigate a TracBack.
Alarms – sets up alarms for navigation (such as anchor drag), the system (such as accuracy), and the
sonar features (such as shallow water).
Celestial – displays tide information, sun and moon information, and hunting and fi shing information.
Message – displays system messages, such as “Lost Satellite Reception”. You can also fi lter the messages
that are displayed.
Display – adjusts various aspects of the display, such as backlight timeout and intensity.
Sound – sets the volume level, voice language, attention tone, and beeper action.
Setup – provides several tabs to setup the GPSMAP 276C to suit your needs.
