3. Getting Started
Before you can use your phone, you must place a SIM card in the phone, install the bat-
tery, and charge the battery.
Inserting a SIM Card
The phone can only be used with a valid
miniature plug-in SIM card. You obtain
the card from your network operator or
service provider.

OTE: Keep all miniature SIM cards out of
small children’s reach.
1If the phone is on: Before inserting the
SIM card, switch off the phone (press
) and wait for a few seconds before
removing the battery.
• The SIM card and its contacts can be
easily damaged by scratches or
bending, so be careful when you
handle, insert or remove the card.
2To remove the battery: Press the catch
on the top of the battery (1), slide the
battery towards the bottom of the
phone (2), and lift the battery upwards
(3).
3Release the SIM card holder by sliding
the catch in the OPEN direction.
4Lift the holder to vertical position.
5Slide the card carefully into the holder.
Ensure that the bevelled corner is up-
permost (see picture) and the gold con-
tacts of the card face into the phone.
