3Press OK (or press and hold ) to se-
lect the profile.
Changing profile settings
(such as incoming call alert)
1Press Menu, scroll with or to
Profiles, and press Select.
2Scroll to the desired profile.
General is the default setting.
Car and Headset appear only if the
phone is or has been used with the car
kit CARK-91 or headset HDC-9, respec-
tively.
3Press Options for the following
functions. Scroll to the desired func-
tion and press OK.
Activate
Sets on the selected profile.

OTE: When the phone is connected to
the car kit CARK-91 or headset HDC-9,
this function is not available.
Personalise
Allows you to change the following
settings of the selected profile. Scroll
to the desired setting and press
Select.
Incoming call alert
Defines how the phone notifies you
of an incoming voice call. Scroll
with or to one of the follow-
ing options and press OK:
Ringing
The phone rings.
Ascending
The phone starts ringing at a low
volume and then gradually raises
the volume to the selected vol-
ume level.
Ring once
The phone rings once.
Beep once
The phone beeps once.
Caller groups
The phone rings only upon calls
from phone numbers which be-
long to a selected caller group.
(Also a graphic is shown, if spec-
ified to the group.)
Scroll to the desired group and
press Mark to select or Unmark
to deselect it. Repeat this as
many times as necessary.
Next, press Back and then Yes
to save or No to ignore the
changes. See also ”Caller Groups”
on page 23.
Off
The phone sounds no tone when
a call comes in.
Ringing tone
Sets the ringing tone for voice calls.
Scroll with or to the desired
tone (a sample is sounded) and press
OK. Select “Personal” for a down-
loaded tone (see note below).

ringing tone via SMS (network
service).
Ringing volume
Sets the volume level for the ringing
and message alert tones. Scroll with
