Network selection (Menu 4-4-5)
You can set the phone to automatically
select one of the cellular networks availa-
ble in your area, or you may select the de-
sired network manually.
1Once in the Phone settings sub-
menu, scroll with or to Network
selection and press Select.
2Scroll to Automatic or Manual and
press Select.
3If you selected Manual: Scroll to the
desired network and press Select.

OTE:
If you select any other than your
home network, this network must
have a roaming agreement with
your home network operator. Other-
wise, the text No access will be
displayed.
You cannot change the network
during a call.
Security settings (Menu 4-5)
You can protect your phone and SIM card
against unauthorised use using the func-
tions within this submenu. See also ”Ac-
cess Codes” on page 58.
To enter this submenu:
Once in the Settings menu, scroll
with or to Security set-
tings and press Select.
PIN code request (Menu 4-5-1)
You can set the phone to ask for the PIN
code of your SIM card when the phone is
switched on.
Note that some SIM cards do not allow
turning off the PIN code request.
1Once in the Security settings
submenu, scroll with or to PIN
code request and press Select.
2Key in the PIN code and press OK.
Scroll to On or Off and press OK.
Call barring service (Menu 4-5-2)
This network service allows you to restrict
making and receiving calls with your phone.
See also ”Change access codes” on page
49 and ”Barring password” on page 59.
1Once in the Security settings
submenu, scroll with or to Call
barring service and press Se-
lect.
2Scroll to one of the following barring
modes and press Select:
Outgoing calls
Calls cannot be made.
International calls
Calls cannot be made to foreign coun-
tries.
International except to
home country
When abroad, calls can be made only
within the current country and to your
home country, i.e. the country where
your home network operator or service
provider is located.
