Data Connection Status and Indicators
Your phone displays the current status of your data
connection through indicators at the top of the screen.
The following symbols are used:
Your data connection is active (data is being
transferred). When the triangles are animated,
your phone is transferring data (for example,
when you are opening a Web page); when the
triangles are gray, your phone is connected to
the network but is not currently transferring
data (for example, when you are viewing a
Web page that is completely open). In either
state, you can receive incoming calls.
Your data connection is dormant (no data is being
sent or received. When the arrows are gray, your
phone is connected to the network but is not
currently transferring data. Though not currently
active, when dormant the phone can restart an
active connection quickly; voice calls can be
made and received.
If you do not see an indicator, your phone does not
have a current data connection. To launch a
connection, see “Launching a Web Connection” on
page 128.
Data Restrictions
Parental Controls determine what features you have
access to on your phone. (See “Using Parental
Controls” on page 60.)
When you first connect to the Web, access is
confirmed against the current Parental Restrictions. If
data access has been restricted, you will be notified
with an onscreen warning. This feature helps prevent
any accidental data connections. You can disable the
data restriction feature by changing the setting from
within the Parental Controls menu.
Note: The default view for the Browser window is to show the
page at full screen with only the
GO/STOP and
TOOLBAR buttons visible.
Tip: To change the default launch page to the last page you
viewed, press
TOOLBAR (right softkey) > OPTIONS >
Set as Homepage.
