I can’t send or receive multimedia (MMS)
messages
• Make sure your phone is turned on (see
Turning your phone on and off
).
• Contact Verizon Wireless to verify that
your plan includes MMS multimedia
messaging services, that these services
have been correctly activated, and that
they are available at your location.
Verizon Wireless should be able to tell
you if messaging services have been
experiencing transmission delays.
Delays can also occur between the time
that a message is sent and the time it is
received.
• Make sure that either the
NationalAccess or
BroadbandAccess icon appears in
the title bar of Main View of the Phone
application. If you do not see either of
these icons, data services are not
available in your current location and you
cannot exchange MMS messages.
• Verify with the recipient that the
receiving device can handle multimedia
messages.
• If a message arrives but does not
display an alert, perform a soft reset
(see Performing a soft reset
).

I can’t tell if data services are available
When your phone is on, icons appear in the
title bar in the Phone application’s
Main
View to indicate whether data services are
available and whether a data connection is
active. See What are all those icons?
for a
description of the icons that indicate that
data services are available.
TIP
If your phone is on and you do not see any
of the data icons, then data services are not
available in your current location.
