What is Smart dial?
The Phone dialer’s Smart Dial feature makes it quick and easy for you to place a call. Simply
enter the phone number or first few letters of the person’s name you want to call. Smart Dial
automatically searches and filters your contacts list (stored on your phone and SIM card)
and the phone numbers from the call history.
Using Speed dial
Use Speed dial to call a phone number with a single tap. For example, if you assign a
contact’s number to the number 2 key, you can simply press and hold this key on the Phone
dialer keypad to dial that number.
Assigning a speed dial number to a contact
1. Press SEND/CALL to open the Phone dialer.
2. Press OPTIONS, and then tap Speed dial.
3. Tap an unused numeric key, and then do any of the following:
Tap Name, select a contact, and then tap OK.
If the stored contact has multiple phone numbers, make sure to select the phone
number you frequently dial that’s shown under the contact’s name.
If the phone number you want to assign to the speed dial key is not stored on your
phone or SIM card, tap Phone, and then enter the complete number.
4. When you’re done, tap Save.
Calling a speed dial number
1. Press SEND/CALL to open the Phone dialer.
2. On the phone keypad:
The number 1 key is generally reserved for your voicemail. Press and hold this key to
call voicemail and retrieve your voicemail messages.
Press and hold the key that is associated with the contact you want to call.
Editing or deleting a speed dial number
1. Press SEND/CALL to open the Phone dialer.
2. Press OPTIONS, tap Speed dial, and then do any of the following:

Edit a speed dial entry Tap the assigned speed dial key, and then tap Name or Phone to
choose another contact or enter a different phone number.
Delete a speed dial number

Tap the assigned speed dial key, press OPTIONS, and then tap
Clear.
Delete all speed dial
assignments
On the Speed dial screen, press OPTIONS, and then tap Clear.
When prompted, tap OK.
