DATA SET WHEN AR/CTL FOR VSAM IS ACTIVE.
Explanation: Manual restart, using an IMS system log data set, was requested.
APPLICATION RESTART CONTROL (AR/CTL) cannot use the IMS system log
data set for restart because the repositioning records for VSAM data sets are not
written to the IMS system log data set.
System Action: AR/CTL terminates the task abnormally with abend U1771 and
reason code X’00074354E’. If appropriate, message BMC74355E is also issued.
User Response: Use the AR/CTL checkpoint/restart data set to perform the restart.
If this data set is not available, perform the necessary actions to cold-start the job
step.
