8.2 MSN Messenger
MSN Messenger features include:
Seeing who is online.
Sending and receiving instant messages.
Having instant message conversations with groups of
contacts.
Notifying contacts of your on-line status.
Blocking contacts from seeing your status or sending you
messages.
To use MSN Messenger, you need a Microsoft Passport
account, or a Microsoft Exchange E-mail account that your
employer provides. Once you have one of these accounts,
you will need to:
Set up an account on MSN Messenger.
Sign in to MSN Messenger.
Setting up an account
Before you can use MSN Messenger, you must set up the
instant messaging account(s) to use. For MSN Messenger
Service, you must have a Microsoft Passport or Hotmail
account. For Exchange Instant Messaging, you must have
an Exchange account.
1. To use MSN Messenger Service, set up a connection to
the Internet; to use Exchange Instant Messaging, set up
a connection to your corporate network.
2. Tap
> Program > MSN Messenger
3. In MSN Messenger, tap Tools
> Options > Accounts
tab.
4. Select Enable MSN Messenger Service and/or Enable
Exchange Instant Messaging.
5. Enter your sign-in name and password for the selected
account(s). Your sign-in name is usually in the form:
username@domain.com.
6. If you selected both accounts, tap Settings > and then select
which account to sign in to rst.
