Introduction
This section describes the messages that Application Enhancement Solutions (AES)
products and the AES environment generate during execution. It presents these
messages in numerical order.
Message Suffixes
Messages that have a BMC prefix also have a 1-letter suffix that indicates the type of
message displayed. These 1-letter message suffixes have the following meanings:
A Action message. An operator reply is required.
D Diagnostic message. Information that may be helpful if a problem occurs.
No user action is usually needed.
E Error message. An error condition has occurred, and the job step may
continue to execute with reduced function or it may abnormally terminate.
User action must be taken to correct the error.
I Informational message. No system error occurred; however, user action may
be needed.
R Reply message. An operator reply is required.
S Severe error message. This type of error usually results in termination of the
issuing request or process.
W Warning message. An expected value was not present, but the program was
able to supply a substitute value. No system action is taken.
