BMC74007W RESTART DATA SET (restart dsn) FOR COLD STARTED NON-UNIQUE
JOB PREVIOUSLY EXISTS
Explanation: APPLICATION RESTART CONTROL (AR/CTL) located a
restart data set (restart dsn) for the job step, as identified by the job name, job step
name, procedure, step name, program name, and program specification block (PSB)
or application specification block (ACB) name. The existence of this data set
indicates that the data set has been previously defined.
System Action: If the data set is a VSAM linear data set, it will be reformatted for
use as the current restart data set. If the data set is not a VSAM linear data set, the
data set cannot be used as the restart data set. AR/CTL abnormally terminates the
task with abend U1771 and reason code X’00074007’.
User Response: This message is a warning only. Review the use of the restart data
set name. Ensure that it is used for restart of only the current job step.
BMC74008E RESTART DATA SET (restart dsn) IDCAMS DEFINE COMMAND
RETURNED CODE (rc)
Explanation: APPLICATION RESTART CONTROL (AR/CTL) issued the
IDCAMS
DEFINE command to define the restart data set (restart dsn). The
command failed, and AR/CTL received return code rc.
System Action: AR/CTL abnormally terminates the task with abend U1771 and
reason code X’00074008’.
User Response: To determine the corrective action to take, examine the alternate
SYSPRINT data set (found under ddname ARCDIVPR) for the IDCAMS
DEFINE
command. The most probable action is to modify the dynamic allocation skeleton for
ddname ARCCHKP.
BMC74009E DYNAMIC ALLOCATION OF restart dsn RETURNED CODE rc
Explanation: APPLICATION RESTART CONTROL (AR/CTL) attempted to
dynamically allocate the restart data set (restart dsn). The attempt failed, and
AR/CTL received return code rc.
System Action: AR/CTL also issues message BMC74010E; then it abnormally
terminates the task with abend U1771 and reason code X’00074009’.
