I can’t tell if data services are available
The following icons appear in the title bar to indicate whether data
services are available:

Your phone is on and a BroadbandAccess (EVDO) or
NationalAccess (1xRTT) network is within range. You can
make or receive calls or open a data connection.

Your phone is connected to a BroadbandAccess or
NationalAccess network, but you are not actively
transmitting data. You can still make or receive calls.
or
Your phone is on and a BroadbandAccess or
NationalAccess data connection is active. If an
BroadbandAccess data connection is active, you can still
make or receive calls. When you make or receive a call,
the data transmission is automatically interrupted. If a
NationalAccess data connection is active, you can still
make calls, but you cannot receive calls (incoming calls go
to voicemail). When you make a call the data transmission
is automatically interrupted.
