Using Your Smartphone as a
Modem
You can use your Smartphone as an external modem for data transfer to and from your
computer by using the Sync Cradle and mini USB cable or by using an infrared
connection.
Note: To use your Smartphone as a GPRS modem, see “Setting Up Your
Smartphone for Wireless Data Service Access” on page 131.
You can use your Smartphone to transfer data only when it is not in a call. If your
Smartphone is in a Walkie-Talkie call when you set up a data transfer, the Walkie-Talkie
call is ended. You will not receive any type of call or message notifications while
transferring data.
For more information on using your Smartphone as a modem, see the Modem User
Guide on sprint.com.
