Supported Bluetooth profiles
Your BlackBerry device is a Bluetooth Smart Ready device, and supports the profiles that follow. If your device is
associated with a work account, your administrator might disable use of a profile.
Profile Description
Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) This profile allows you to stream audio files from your
BlackBerry device to Bluetooth enabled devices that
support stereo audio such as stereo headsets, speakers,
and car kits.
Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP) This profile allows you to use the buttons on a Bluetooth
enabled headset to perform actions such as adjusting the
volume or playing the next or previous media file on your
BlackBerry device.
Generic Audio/Video Distribution Profile (GAVDP) This profile allows you to stream audio and video content
from your BlackBerry device to Bluetooth enabled devices
such as music players, stereo headphones, stereo
speakers, laptops and desktop computers.
Generic Object Exchange Profile (GOEP) This profile allows you to share files between your
BlackBerry device and a Bluetooth enabled device.
Human Interface Device (HID) This profile allows you to connect your BlackBerry device to
Bluetooth enabled devices such as a keyboard or mouse.
Hands-Free Profile (HFP) This profile allows you to connect your BlackBerry device to
Bluetooth enabled headsets that support the Hands-Free
profile. This profile can support voice dialing.
Message Access Profile (MAP) This profile allows you to use a Bluetooth enabled car kit
with your BlackBerry device to notify you of new messages.
This profile can also help you read, delete, browse,
compose, and send messages.
Object Push Profile (OPP) This profile allows you to send files, such as pictures,
contacts, or events, to a Bluetooth enabled device.
Personal Area Networking - User/Network Access Point
(PAN - U/NAP)
This profile allows you to use your BlackBerry device as a
modem when it's connected to a Bluetooth enabled
computer.
