1. General Description
A synchronous DTE connected to a D
term
/Data Adapter can communicate via the PBX with a synchronous DTE
connected to a Synchronous D
term
/Data Adapter.
2. Operating Procedure
To originate a data call from the sync./async. D
term
/Data Adapter:
1. Press the “DATA” key on the D
term
. The LED above the key will illuminate and “D” will appear on the LCD.
2. Use the keypad to dial the desired DTE extension. will appear on the display (“XXXX”
refers to the called extension number).
3. The DATA LED will flash an d ,will appear (flashing) on the LCD.
4. When the called DTE answers, the display is changed as follows,

Series E.
5. A transparent data path is established, and data communication can begin.
To terminate the data call, either user may press the “DATA” key. The other party’s LCD will display as shown
below for five seconds.
