To type using T9 mode
While typing, words will appear in a list. Use the NAVIGATION WHEEL to choose
the word you want to insert and press CENTER SELECT.
For example, to type “surprise”, just spell out the word “surprise” using the keyboard.
You will notice that pressing the keys for the first 3 characters will spell out “air”
but after you press the key for the fourth character, the word changes to “surp.”
Continue typing until you see the word “surprise” in the suggested words list.
Tip To type in all uppercase letters, press the key twice.
Numeric mode
If a text box permits a numeric entry only, such as a phone number, the input mode
automatically defaults to Numeric mode. However, if you need to enter numbers
within a line of text, change to Numeric mode (
123 on the menu) or use the
key.
To enter numbers in text boxes
Press
and then press the numeric key.
Tip To lock the input mode to Numeric mode in a text box, press twice.
