62 Using Phone Features
2.1 Using the Phone
You can use your phone to make, receive, and keep track of voice calls, and send
text messages (SMS, Short Message Service) and Multimedia Messages (MMS,
Multimedia Messaging Service). You can also dial a phone number directly from
Contacts, and easily copy SIM contacts to Contacts on the phone.
When connected to a Wi-Fi network, you can use Unlicensed Mobile Access
(UMA) technology to make and receive calls. UMA technology also lets you switch
between the T-Mobile cellular network and Wi-Fi network seamlessly when you are
using your phone. To learn how to connect to a Wi-Fi network, see Chapter 8. For
more information about the UMA features of the phone, please contact T-Mobile.
