About Reports
The PATROL DashBoard product provides different types of reports to satisfy
requirements for both real-time and historical analysis to help you with long-term
planning in the following ways:
Your troubleshooting and real-time analysis benefit from
— the immediate display of PATROL DashBoard indicators and graphs
— threshold-crossing notifications
— Comparison reports
— Exceptions reports
— Real-Time Top Talkers reports
— Inventory reports
Your trending planning and capacity planning benefit from
— Trends reports at various levels (network, domain, device, and so on)
— Points to Watch reports
— ISDN reports
Your decision-support system benefits from
— ASCII export of PATROL DashBoard data to a third party or to specific
applications
— Diagnostic reports
— Immediate Inventory reports
— Comparison reports
The available reports are clear, functional reports that can be specific to geographical
zones or infrastructure elements. The actual reports available at any particular level
in the navigation tree depend on the selected object. To determine which of the
following reports are available for an object, right-click the object and choose
Reports:
Comparison report: compares the indicators of a device’s interfaces, the DLCIs,
VPs, VCs, CoSs, or protocols
Diagnostics report: isolates the performance indicators responsible for a response-
time increase experienced by the end user
Exceptions report: shows all major threshold crossings per indicator over the last
seven days
Inventory report: shows the number of each type of network object
