Trends Report
Trends reports provide data that can help you analyze the behavior of any object in
the network, logical groups of objects, and the network itself. The trends provide
information about possible problems before they arise, enabling you to analyze those
trends and manage your network proactively.
Trends reports are automatically generated every night in the following formats:
network-oriented reports (response time, SNMP metrics), as shown in Figure 139
on page 261
application-oriented reports (RMON2, NetFlow, CoS), as shown in Figure 140 on
page 262
The application data format is available only if RMON probes or Cisco routers
with NetFlow are managed by PATROL DashBoard.
To switch back and forth between network data and application data, click the
Network Data or Application Data hyperlink in the Type of Data section at the top of the
report.
You can sort the information differently by using the
Filters section. Click an option to
sort the data by daily, weekly, or monthly values or by short-term trend, long-term
trend, or time to threshold.
Each type of report comprises tables that show results for each possible indicator (for
example, for a device, a table for Workload, IP No Route, and Drops; for an interface,
a table for Input, Output, and Drops; for a Peer, a table for Round Trip Time; and for
a DLCI, a table for Congestion).
The listed objects (
Objects column) are hyperlinks to the specific indicator of the
selected object. You can view the daily, weekly, or monthly data by using this link.
You can view all the available tables by scrolling down the window, or you can click
one of the links at the top of the report to go directly to the table for a particular
indicator. These indicator links are grouped by object type.
