Control Fields for Analog Measurements
Detector
This setting selects the type of detector used when measuring and
displaying AF signal levels.
Detector Types
• RMS displays the root mean square (rms) value of signals.
• RMS*SQRT2 displays the rms value of a signal multiplied by the
square root of 2.
• Pk+ displays the positive peak value.
• Pk − displays the negative peak value.
• Pk± /2 adds the positive and negative peak values, and divides the
sum by 2.
• Pk± Max compares the positive and negative peaks and displays the
greater value (polarity is not indicated).
• Pk+ Hold displays and holds the positive peak value until the
measurement is reset. To reset, use
Meas Reset
(press and release
the
Shift
key, then the
Hold
key), select a different detector, or
re-select the same detector.
• Pk − Hold displays and holds the negative peak value until the
measurement is reset. To reset, use
Meas Reset
(press and release
the
Shift
key, then the
Hold
key), select a different detector, or
re-select the same detector.
• Pk±/2 Hold divides the sum of the positive and negative peak values
by 2, and displays the value until the measurement is reset. To reset,
use
Meas Reset

select a different detector, or re-select the same detector.
• Pk± Mx Hold compares the positive and negative peaks and displays
the greater value until the measurement is reset. To reset, use
Meas
